Tri Kappa Apparel

Here are your choices and prices for shirts and totes. I'll check with J&S Sportswear about the procedure for taking orders and payments. Our church was able to choose the color and style of shirt for each person, so we should be able to do that, too. Check back on the blog for updates.

The Tradition Continues

Gertrude, Mary Margaret, and Olive

Norma Jean, Bonnie, and Mary

Janet and Carolyn

Pam and Maxine

We all enjoyed wonderful refreshments!

Special thanks to Brenda Johnson, Janet Perry, Carolyn Clements, and Barb Gilliatt for serving as hostesses for our 108th chapter birthday celebration. How nice it was to enjoy fellowship with our sisters in the Associate chapter! I think everyone agrees that we should do this more often. It was a special time to hear everyone's Tri Kappa memories and realize just how important our sisterhood really is! We are a part of a very special organization!

Saturday Fish Fry

Although we didn't get a specific dollar amount, the Masons said we did very well for the weekend. Way to go, Tri Kappa! Thanks to all the ladies who gave their time on Friday and Saturday. Special thanks to the Masons for making it all possible!

Keep Kappa Coins!

For those of you using your Kappa Calendar and following the instructions for each day, I urge you to take a minute and count your coins. You'll be surprised how a little bit every few days adds up! I am preparing for a super busy week, so I thought I would go ahead and put in my change through next Monday (especially since I won't be at the meeting) and I was amazed to have saved $4.50...exactly...I didn't even add a few to round up! If even five people have done this, we'll have a nice little contribution to our General Fund.

Another plus to doing this has been that it sort of forces me to think about Tri Kappa each day...not that thinking about Tri Kappa is a bad thing, I would just remember things I needed to do or think of our members and remember all the good things we do. For those of you who have done this, what are your thoughts? Is it worth continuing? I promise that my feelings won't be hurt if you don't want to do this again! Just share your thoughts...

Sweatshirt idea

Today I was getting out sweatshirts to wear for this cool weather, and when I saw my church logo sweatshirt, I thought, "Our chapter needs to make a Tri Kappa sweatshirt." If we produced a sweatshirt or long-sleeve t-shirt that wasn't the usual black and white number for sale in Cross Keys, we could increase our General Fund and be stylin', too! Think of the college shirts that are pastels or lime green/brown or have unusual graphics on them, even though that college's colors are crimson and cream. They sell.

I'm not artistic or creative, so I appeal to those who may have a good idea about how to take this idea to the production stage. What does everyone think? Would you be willing to buy a sweatshirt like this?We could produce some for ourselves only and not have to invest in an inventory, then get feedback about selling them statewide. Our church took up orders and ordered through J&S Sportwear, using a design developed by Heather Eubank Nichols.

Something to think about....
